I live several miles outside of town in a fringe area for my cellular service. I have to step outside to take or make a cellular call, and even then it may drop. For now, I stay hard-wired.
I do understand that. Until May, I didn’t have the luxury of going totally wireless. I had Sprint and when I got off I-90 to go to my exit, I was promptly “removed” from the network. I even lived less than a mile from the highway but just not enough signal! After my contract ended, I went with ATT who gives me 4 bars!

CHEESE AND RICE!!!
Heres a note posted by someone there:
>>>Look for piles of rocks, sticks with tin cans / bottles on or long lines of string/rope. These denote minefields. Not all are marked though.<<<Sounds like places where caches are hidden too! No bushwackin on this one!
Hey I found it! hooti..BOOM! Took McAfghani Cous Cous meal toy, left arm…and a leg.
What an idiot that placed this.
Thanks everyone!
You ask how we do it amongst getting married this year? Two words…Dirty House. Or two more. Housework neglect! Whatever works.
I think there is a direct proportion between the amount of geocaching one does and the amount of undone chores. IF that is true, What does Natloh’s/Thorsons’ Geotrippers’/Ecorangers’ houses look like? LOL Just kidding!!!
Thanks again all!

I seem to remember seeing a similar site that was a virtual geocache type of site. One found a cool place, waypointed it and posted it. I can’t remember or find the site now, but you may want to do some more research. Not that you can’t coexist, but….

I’ll be sure to bolster my firewall and keep all of my Top Secret files off of my computer when you’re in Deforest, Nick. LOL

PTO:
I don’t think you’ll find one link with all entities you’ll want to consider:
Just by googling “geocaching placement guidelines” I got just page one of many state, county, and local websites with rules of placement.
The state natural areas site has links by county; Many of them have maps, but the shaded area, can’t be precise enough. You’ll have to have your approver look into this and have the swiss placer get permission in fuzzy bordering areas. http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/er/sna/bycountylist.htm
Overall, search out as many state, local, & regional geocaching associations as you can to obtain links and copies of these policies. Prepare to hear much grumbling. I don’t envy you.

We have been involved in this sport for many months now, and feel gc.com has been doing an admirable job of tying this all together. There are some things we might want to see changed, but for the most part they have provided all that we need to enjoy the outdoors, the camaraderie, the game. Now SwissPerpetual comes along and wants to introduce a new game. Please tell me why I should have any interest in adding to the offerings of groundspeak. If there was a need, I might understand an alternative. Please tell me what SwissPerpetual has to offer.
If SwissPerpetual is only looking to play their game on our turf, I see nothing wrong with that. Nothing, as long as it doesn’t deminish our ability to play our game. If it’s going to look like our activities, then SwissPerpetual needs to enter our arena equiped with the same rules we have.
It is admirable that Team Swiss has approached the issue at the BOD level, but we are still unsure of your credentials. Are you geocachers? What is your expreience? What is it that you are offering? and what are you asking of us? So far your only request has been for information regarding the rules and boundaries we face. These have been published for all who have an interest.
I don’t see any need for me to join this. Geocaching keeps me busy enough. but the Geocaching/navicache/swiss/new kid on the block “market” will determine who is still doing a given activity in 1 or 3 or 10 years. (it may not be who you think)
We shouldn’t be so negative, given that they are asking for help.
So Beast asks “why would I be interested?” & “what do they offer?” The answer is you don’t have to be interested, and it really doesn’t matter.
But if there is a danger of being confused with other organizations by governmental bodies, then we (especially the WGA Board) SHOULD be interested in helping Swiss or any other organization that derives of GC.com. ESPECIALLY if they are ASKING for it!
Swiss players and organizers: do whatever floats your boat, but also do whatever it takes to play nice with the “established neigbors” and the “deed restrictions” so to speak.
Thanks!

(I think it is too late for that.)
Little did anyone know but we had a celebrity at the picnic!
Should this person ever hand the gc.com reins to someone else, not only will there be big shoes to fill, but also…

A big hat too!
What an honor to join the 800 club with cachers like these! We’ve enjoyed caching with you and your hides as well! Thanks and congratulations!
