Jeff:
Thanks for maintaining this thread.
Please add PA to make it 12 for us. Since this thread is so short, I have no idea how you missed it the first time mentioned it (wink wink, tongue in cheek)
Thanks!

On our trip back from our honeymoon, we picked up a Jeep from North Carolina (I think it was NC) When you do so many caches and in so many states, it’s hard to remember where you were! I think we are bringing to the picnic. You’ll have to track down Ms. WISearcher if you want it.
Mr. WISearcher
I have to say that has got to be one of the best articles ever on Geocaching. Didn’t see any misrepresentations like burial, etc.
The headline is something I guess we’ll have to live with. It’s the best thing to call it for the NON geocaching folk, especially as an attention getter. I myself use the term when describing it but make sure to clarify that there is no gold bullion.quote:

Continue chasing that waypoint (ground zero) until you get bored or have a heart attack. This would have been fatal pre-May 2000.

Prior to May 2000, you might have been better off with a sextant and a compass!
Awesome job Cachew and Wicket!!! Here’s to many more adventures…and of course more milestones!!!
I’ve also have bought it at Wally World….also at Gander Mountain.
This would be cool. It would probably be the mother of all EVENT caches Sounds like something that would be a year( or two) in the making, Depending on how big and bad one would want to go!
WGA Board: Have the admins/ Groundspeak people ever discussed something like this?
It would be quite the sight to see 3000? geocachers converge on say, Chicago, or (name your large city here).

I never did hear the resolution, though. Do we know if it was found? The one big “fly in the ointment” of it being a Rino would be the loose battery problem. If it fell out of a pocket or off of it’s clip and hit the ground, the “loose battery” problem may rear its ugly head and shut the unit down! Then the search would be just the same as any other GPSr.

I just got back to this thread. I just got my rino back from Garmin after sending it in under warranty. I had the same problem with it shutting down. After it got jostled on my belt clip, giving it a bump like the guy talking to Ziggy on the show Quantum Leap (LOL) or any slight bump would shut it down. Turned out there was a loose solder point in the unit, not the batteries’ springs being loose. It is good as new now! If yours is getting bad, you might want to send it in.

The beast is one wise old owl indeed!
Ken: I remember watching the show, but all I remember is the moose and pingpong balls… everything gets hazy beyond that…
