I agree with looking for more than a TFTC or such. I alway s try to write a couple sentences, if not more. I hate it when someone does my 100 Barn Quilt caches and says “TFTC”. If they only know how many miles I rode my bike or walked to place them. Then I have some good cachers that go and write a different log for everyone of them. I applaud them for that.
Maybe we are not coving log writing in the classes that we have for new folks?

That up the “D” level a bit!

And I would be standing next to you and your $100 check and my $500.
It just occured to me that many of us may not realize what kind of danger we sometimes place our selfs in when we go out caching. Many of us have climbed trees, scaled rocks, mounted an attack on an island or gone caching all night. We come away from those places with a smiley face for our stats, but also with our health. Even in this extreme heat, we add a certain level of difficulty to this crazy sport that we love.
If it was caching, I probably would be out with others. That is how I have been caching of late. I also know that there would be cachers that would pay the respects and share stories with my family.
I just do not get it. I enjoy going to even the most boring cache site, as long as I find it. Just finshed up the pumpkin series and a bunch more on Sat with 5 other people. We had 2 cars and we stopped as a team at every cache. There was no leap frogging at all. Makes it a longer day, but more fun. Like watch circus clowns at work.
Sadness and Happiness in the same story. Good to see that the local cachers stepped up to help the family of a fallen brother.
I say make ’em walk the plank matey! I have deleted a log of a some what highly regarded cacher from WI, when I saw that they did not sign the log. 25,000+ logs to your name does not sway me one bit.
I agree that it is only a game and do what you feel is proper.

Not sure if it is the case this year, but in years past, Wal-mart has allowed people to camp in their parking lot. Not a lot of amenities, but the bathrooms are nicer than many campsites.
I may do that. The SUV has enough room for me and the mtn bike. That is what I did last year, but I did not have a tent then. Parked in a motel lot and slept. When you say “camp in the parking lot”, I wonder if they would have a problem with a small tent. LOL
Spotted this thread and checked some more. The stairs are now back and open. That appears to be the reason that the cache was archived.

No camper for me. I just a have a one person Igloo popup tent. Takes me less then 5 minutes to setup and stake it out. Don’t even need a full size site or electric. That is why I was hoping to find something outside of a state park with smaller tent pads.
Gov. Dodge was great with the group sites, because we all split the cost.
Welcome to the club!
Please send me an email with the ammo can that I am buying and the price. Please break it down to the number of each. I need this to get reimbursed by Green County Tourism.
Thanks!
