my mistake. pictures 28, 29 and 31 were not taken in wisconsin. pictures 27 and 35 are the same picture. just wondering if the votes will be combined. all of my submitted pics were taken at actual geocaching sites. sorry for the mistake.

Event though those may not be taken in Wisconsin and the rules do not say that an Illinois picture cannot be submitted, I think the “spirit is to have pictures in Wisconsin. The problem is how to tell where it was taken. I have a couple great pictures, but not in state. I would suggest that in the future, that they be only WI pics.

Hey, not a problem. Not everyone is a late nighter like me. That is one reason that I enjoy caching al night after my 4th of July show.

    Thanks!

I just noticed the deadline last night and quickly sent mine off with 90 minutes to spare! 😳

If I had noticed and had more time, I would have submited more than one, but picked the cutest I had. I have not seen it posted yet though.

Nice thought, but the gunpowder, Cu, Mg, Al, etc look better up high in the sky and burning bright!

I would image that those that have left DNF’s on that cache would agree with you though. 🙁

I even know what a FRED is on a train.

Cool. . .Still have more “seats” available for a group night of caching. Shooting firework shows is my way relaxing and doing something different that my JOB. Caching all night afterwards is my way of winding down after blowing stuff up to entertain hundreds of people in the “hood”. 🙂

Sooo… that’s the best time to do the Harley cache! This sounds like an interesting venture… are you considering a nighttime adventure in the city again? BTW I live in Washington Heights… a stone’s throw away from the park.

There was only me and that statue! Yes, I am looking for person(s) to join me for some exploring Milwaukee after dark!

You probably have seen my handy work on the 4th then over the past 15+ years. We shoot all of the Milwaukee County parks and almost all of the other shows in the region. I started shooting the shows out there at Gordon Park, but after 2-3 years moved to Washington Park.

Darn. . . and I was starting to reach for my wallet. LOL

Oh well, more money for geo-gas.

Yes I am. Sorry I did not include that in my post.

Last year, the only thing I had to worry about was those crazy bread truck drivers. They come shooting out of the alleys on 2 wheels!!

I just kind of “wander” and pick up the urban caches as most of the parks are closed and probably better done in the daylight. Those that along the various waterways are pretty cool. I did the Harley Davidson one last year.

in reply to: Trackables Gone Missing #1961727

I agree with that sinking feeling that one gets. Everyone of my trackables that I have released has gone missing. I was pretty excited when I got my first one as a FTF prize. I wanted it to travel to Germany and then where ever. It never made it past New Jersey.

Thanks for starting this project and keeping thos little guys out there!!

I have done this one. The final is pretty cool!

    in reply to: flashlights #1932046

I have found that my Rayovac 3 watt Vatio serves me very well. It is a tough little flashlight that can take a lot. Small enough to slip into a pocket and bright enough to find those pesky pine tree caches. I use 2 AA NI-MH 2300 mAh batteries that give me weeks of use before I need to top them off. The button switch on the back is handy when using it to light something up for a moment. Twist the cap and it stays on.

Rubber ducky your the one, you make camping lots of fun. Also dont forget the cane or walker. 😆

I thought you had your own walker, but I can dig one up for you!

in reply to: Cache replacement #1961643

One of the issues that I have had in the past with it “walking” is that it is wheelchair accessible. It is under a bush in a planter, but many people feel that they need to place it back in the MIDDLE of the bush. There is no way in the world that a person in a wheelchair could ever reach it, let alone probably see it.

We have very few true wheelchair capable caches out there. We do have many that have a terrain of 1 that should be 1.5. 🙂
