What do mean the escort service might be closed next Saturday? I thought it was 24 hours, 365 days a year. At least that was the platform he ran on last year. Oh well.

Seriously, thinking Expedition or Wet Maze 2.300 for our #10,000 – perhaps next Saturday prior to the LCG event. I just have to see if Mr. Lacknothing can be talked into that since I will just be getting home from three weeks of travel.

My little band of cachers might be interested in doing the Wet Maze before/after the LCG event. I will have to check with Scribble Scribe and Beccaday first.

SWEET! I wanna go work with them, give me excuse to strap the tanks back on.

Splash, you need an excuse to strap on the tanks, there are two quarry diving caches over this way.

You want I should bring them up for you?

We could make it a group caching event. All of us on shore cheering you on to get the container back to us for signing. 😆

I will have to find out when this is on next so that I can see it.

Downloaded the Kindle sample. Just read the first of six chapters. Not too bad and I’m not a book reader.

Sure would like to know the GC for that cache. 😆

I am going with the flow, but just need to get closer to the river so that the raft would flow properly. 🙂

I am close enough now that the annual spring flood should pick me up just fine!

Thanks TBC. I know that this is something new and as a developer, I know that things need tweeking when they are new. Thanks for putting this together, as it is a nice addition to the site.

I think that it is trying to place me at the nearest road/address to the coords.

42.72237 -89.45267 does not change it. It is the address to a house that is just to the north. When I start to slowly adjust the north coord to be a little farther south, it then jumps to Reubens Cave Drive, which is also too far east.

Strange that I see the JKK&KIDS has his in the middle of the lake. LOL!!

Maybe I should update mine and move it to one of my caches! Someone used to live in that cave 100 years ago. 🙂

How close to the entered coords will it place the marker? It shows me over 1/2 mile from where the coords really are.

Just ordered a pair. Thanks for the info.

Very good choice for the current cover photo. Good thing that cache is not hidden on it. 😆

I’ve also heard that some groups don’t stop to sign the log on P&G caches. They drive by and if they can see it visually they call it “Found” and continue on. This is usually done on classic signpost caches where a visual is easy or a quick touch/go (skipping the time to open/sign/return) also works.

Not that I ‘police’ my cache logs, but I do have a big problem with drive-by finds. The GC rules are VERY clear that the log MUST be signed. Dropping a penny, while it is a sign that you were there is not the same thing. Pointing to the cache and yelling “Found it!” is not right either.

We all have forgot the writing stick or lost it during the hunt, and that is understandable. As CO’s we all have let that slide, because of that. Most of us will note that in the log and maybe take a picture. Siging as a group is fine by me, as it save space on the shett so that it lasts longer. Short signatures are also need sometimes when space is tight.

For the record, I have only deleted one log entry and that was from a certain person in West Bend that I was supprised that they did it. I never heard anything from them. I was told about this by another cacher that sent me a log picture. I may check the other logs. If I see the same thing, then this person will be losing about 100 smiley’s.

So that is why GC had to buy more disk space! 😆

Not having the rules in hand, I believe that only the first drop by a cacher counts. Otherwise, 2 or more cachers could team up and move it around to rack up miles.

in reply to: Should a FTF coin be activated? #1967352

I have gotten an couple FTF trackables and they have always been unactivated. If you do activate it, then it would need to be transfered to the lucky cacher.

Sounds like a good time. 😆

For those that did not get a chance to see the show, it will be on again next Fri/Sat at 10:00PM and 2:00AM respectfully. It is also availble on HistoryChannel.com, for those that do not have cable, sat. or good friends. 🙂
