    Congratulations!

The lawn must be a foot high and the gardens still waiting to be planted with you doing caches at this rate.

Keep it up, at 110 every 16 days you should pass everyone .

Congratulations and isn’t that one of the few buried caches that are out there?
I considered doing it while in Jamaica last year but did not get over that way.
    Nice place to get 100!

    Not coming back?

These are some of my very favorite caches!

Perhaps T&B have some new ones planned there?

    Great job on hitting 400!

Some wonderful milestones by Wisconsin cachers lately – glad to see you have hit one of yours.

Must be getting old – I thought I responded to this posting while out east.
    Congratulations on 700!
It is an honor that you selected one of my caches for this event.
Way to go Bob & Pat!

in reply to: Big Caching Weekend for Anyone? #1746918

I am going highpointing and caching.
Will start tomorrow with caching in New Hampshire.
Saturday its off to the Mass. Highpoint – Mt. Greylock and a series of caches along the way. Should swing over to New York for a cache or two.
Sunday one of the tough highpoints – Rhode Island and Jerimoth Hill – tough because you can only get to it 5 days out of the year. Two caches there but many nearby.
So my weekend is my two passions – highpointing and geocaching – they really do compliment each other.

You should have shut the garage – possession is 9 tenths of the law and butter burgers could have been had for a year.
My other thought was it sounds like a tough neighborhood – have you considered Moo-ving?

While I will admit to having fun being on one side of this discussion, lets look at the statistics for COTM.
Aprils Winner – Nectar of the Gods (visits in May = 0)
Marchs Winner – Mystery of the Trolls Treasure (visits in April & May = 1)
Februarys Winner – Kings Ransom (visits in March & April = 7 – visits in May = 0)
Januarys Winner – Caching through the Snow (no visits since because it was an event)
Decembers Winner – Little Falls Covert Cache (January thru May total visits = 1)

Sorry folks but the stats show no rush by people to go to the COTM’s once they win.

COTM is a recoginition of a job well done. In the case of events – a job well done deserves to win. Those stating that this will guide them to the caches they will seek out must be planning trips later this year.
Lets face facts, this has become political to the point that some seek votes by email to get their cache in the running. I find this rather silly.
I believe WISearchers alluded to the fact that caches outside of eastern Wisconsin and mainly the Milwaukee area, are at a great disadvantage in winning this award.

Since it appears that winning the recognition does not drive people to do these caches, the arguement of events not being of valid consideration is fairly weak.

As always my opinions are meant to make people think not get upset.

While there does seem to be fewer voters, I think the mandate is a lot clearer this time on what most feel deserves the award.
While many of the individual caches listed deserve the award, based on time invested and how great it was, it would be fair to say the vote leader at this point is very logical candidate.
I think events should be considered as COTM since they have become one of the primary things that is making Wisconsin Geocaching as good as it is.
Whatever your own feelings, I agree we all should vote and I have already done so.
Care to guess what I voted for?

Rumor has it that Pharmteam may score the orignal cache in Oregon this summer. Hope they take a picture of them there.
