I think I agree with Ken – you need to either find some volunteer work or perhaps take up another hobby – I think you have way too much time on your hands Jeff.
But……
If a cache was in a dumpster and you were there…… would you find it?
I will be on the lookout for any clues that say – open the hinged metal lid and crawl in.No offense taken young lady. I am just trying to keep the interest high in this area with limited hiding spots. I am getting to the point where long drives to specific areas are needed to keep finding caches and was thinking of ways to keep those who did not share my insanity active.
I will await The Lil Otter log on Wisconsin Time Trial 2004 in the future.Under the line of thought that a cache in the same area that is different from the one being archived should not be a new cache seems wrong. If the cache is exactly the same such as a here are the coords, find it in the same basic area, I would agree. However if the new cache shows you a different part of the area such as all the caches in the Kettle Moraine area or offers a different type of challenge then it should be a different cache.
Most people do not scour the state for caches and prefer to do ones near and this type of turnover of caches would seem to appeal to them.Nice job Window Licker!
100 is such a cool number to hit. I means you are as addicted as the rest of us.
Best prices for good kayaks I have seen is at Galyans. One near Woodfield mall and I think there is one going to be in Middleton this spring.
I also plan on picking one up soon.Great job on 300!
It is great that so many people are caching through winter.
Extremely sad news for her family but also for your community Ken. I can only imagine how much she will be missed by all.
It is official – I was lucky to be with Natloh2 when he hit number 700!
Congratulations Alan – see you at 800 soon.I have been changes my caches on a periodic basis and have had at least two that have had mulitple locations before I retired them. Most of those I have turned into a nice multi-cache in the same general area.
I think we all like to revisit spots and archiving older caches and making new ones seems to be both popular and serves a nice purpose too.Sounds great!
I have my plans all set. Thanks everyone!
Lots of really cool caches in that 600 and a bunch of really cool people I have met doing them.
Just remember the runner who has done a 1000 races is no better then the one doing their first race – just more experienced.Nice job on 400! Did anything make this one extra special?
Thanks for all the caches you have placed also.Great job on the stats page. Amazing the things that Wisconsin geocachers can do.
Played with one of them at REI and was not that impressed. Seemed like a lightweight PDA for the price. It was cool being able to move the maps around with the stylus and the color was excellent. I prefer something I can drop a few times and not worry about its demise.
Nice job and I am optimistic that Madison will be the geocaching area it deserves to be. It just goes to show what we can do as individuals to help the whole group.
My next effort is speaking to the Rock Trail Coaliton on February 12th about geocaching. This group is one of “naturals” to join us. The have monthly hikes planned in different parks and are active in both funding and developing recreational trails and areas. -
