I knew we had at least 2 make their 100th there but 4? Unheard of.
Congrats to all and what a great event to get your 100th cache.

Thanks for letting me try it out Mr. Beast. Here are my top 5 reasons I am giving at home on why I need one:

#5 – But dear, you could use a nice color one when we geocache.
#4 – Gee, Ray has one.
#3 – I think I am the only geocacher without color now.
#2 – This will be my last GPS dear.
#1 – I think we could get this new GPS and new livingroom furniture dear (this one will do it I am sure)

I went on a trip up there two summers ago and bought the Magical Maps CD that has the whole area on it. This is the special CD just for the canoe trips. They request that copies not be made of the software but I would be happy to loan you my original if you would return it when done mapping.

I agree with the Kevlar canoe idea. We did a couple of portages that were greater then 1 mile and I would have hated myself if I had not gotten the Kevlar one.

When we were up there and set up for camp for the night, we had a visit from a couple of ladies that just wanted to rest a bit at our site before moving on. They we a pair of breast cancer survivors who where in the final stage of their “quest” as survivors on a month long canoe trip and were headed for the grand finish that features a 8 mile portage. Those were some neat people to meet.

If you would like to borrow my disk, just send me a email.

    Welcome to geocaching!
A quick email to any of the owners should get you a fairly quick response on whether dogs are allowed or not. In Janesville, dogs are allowed in the parks from September 15 through May 15. There are special dog exercise areas (of which there are three caches in now) in Janesville where they are welcome year-round.
Other close areas to you – Kettle Moraine Southern Unit where some areas allow them and some don’t, it is usually best to check with the owners.
Goodluck and we all look forward to having someone from Fort Atkinson involved in geocaching.

Very nice program for picking up stats. I notice that there are a few Illinois folks included on the list – is it meant to reflect just Wisconsin or people who geocache in Wisconsin?
    Goodluck making this work.

I agree – something is amiss with it at this time.

    Congratulations on 100!
Many of us have been enjoying your caches too.
Where did the Beast find a Twinkie web page is what really worries me though.

I orginally bought my GPS for hiking and was learning how to use my new Garmin Legend and stumbled onto geocaching.com online. I saw that there was a cache .8 mile from my house in an area I knew quite well. Off I went and after discovering that the North numbers went up as I went north and the West numbers went up as I went west – I found my first cache in the most primitive of ways. I was hooked on day one. When I got the welcome message from Trudy & the Beast I laughed at their suggestion that someone would do 400 caches in a year . I figured if I did 40 that would be a lot. Needless to say I managed to meet their challenge.
I also use my gps for traveling and mapping. Much better then a paper map.
I also take it on vacation as my play toy on the beach. For some reason I thought it was neat in Jamaica last spring to see the altitude number go from 3 feet to zero as I stepped into the carribbean. Guess I am easlily amused sometimes.
How cold to not cache? I guess no day is too cold as long as there is a cache to be found.

    Congratulations!
Nice job on 200. Someday you must explain the Uncle Fun name. Somehow I have visions of someone dressed in a clown suit out geocaching. Try being stealth that way !

Great job on 800! I am sure that it is just as much fun as number 1. Keep it up Mike and crew!

    Great job on 200!
Nice that you can cache with a bunch of co-workers and all have fun doing it together.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Can’t wait to play.
Will you announce the date the info will be released prior to it going online?

in reply to: wzbt03 Tops 500 in Tennessee #1736304

    Thanks everyone.
It was a real challenge for number 500 with the trail conditions as they were.
Seems like for most of the year I was on track to hit 400 for the year and then Geoffnsara talked about making 500 this year……… Well what can I say.
