I agree!
These are the types of events that make people think very positive things about geocaching.
Thanks also to the Parks Department people who guided us on our way.
They sure asked a lot of questions about geocaching which usually leads them into our activity.
Way to go Rhonda and Tony!!!Leave your stats and I will add them.
A good word from T&B is always an plus but I would have listed you anyway Mike & Sue.Thanks for some wonderful thoughful comments Tony.
Wisconsin Geocaching is about the people. Whether it be people hiding them or people finding them makes no difference.
We all do it different and in our own way.The forum is about sharing ideas and discussing a new sport where the rules are far from being set in stone.
Everyone should challenge what they disagree with but respect the opinions of others as they do the same.I like sarcasm and others do not. I like a friendly jab , others may not. Ignore what you dislike and embrace what you do like.
I enjoy caching with some people and not with others. All of these things are what make us unique.
Lets not have anyone quit posting in the forum. If we all agreed on everything, then something is probably terribly wrong.
I really do not know what everyone likes reading about on the forum but I leave lots of posts and some get replies and some do not.
I offer opinions and some are agreed with and others not so well received. It is a lot like Cachew and his Chili Cheese Dog – he likes tabasco on it and some don’t. But in the end its still a chili cheese dog. Look at it, eat it and digest it. If it didn’t go down well, lighten up on the tabasco. If it was too mild – well its your dog, have it your way.
As I stated when I hit 1000, I am going to slow down and have. It took me over 3 months to get this last 100 caches but they have been some of the most enjoyable and scenic I have done. Not to mention some of the most fun with Team Badger and company.
Hitting high numbers is always because others have taken the time to hide caches. My hats off to everyone who has hidden any of the ones I have done.
Thanks for the kind words and the promotion. Does that mean more pay Bob or just more work?Great job on number 800.
You two just keep edging closer and closer to the 1000 mark – is it in the cards yet this year?
Congrats!I am pretty sure that Tie will start doing this again. Look for it soon.
For an animal that slugged a 50 cal. machine gun through some tough southeast asian rice patties, I don’t imagine there are many more tougher out there commander. I also imagine there were many who did indeed find out that you do shoot back.
Just you GPS tomorrow though.
The purpose of making it an event was to invite and attract some new people to possibly get out and do some geocaching with Team Badger.
You will find that Team Badger will show rain or shine – event or no event. It has always been about the fun of sharing stories, ideas and the thrill of the hunt with others.
There really isn’t a need to figure out a way to get around the rules. The need is for the rules to understand what geocachers want out of it.
If this was just a quest for another cache number, I would have been against it as an event. Instead it is about what geocaching should be about, people helping people learn about geocaching and what a great group of people it includes.
Regardless of what groundspeak or anyone else thinks – this is an EVENT.Good job on 800!
Its been nice doing some of them with you and doing the ones you have placed.
I still have your medal and must get around to hiding it someday soon. Now I know what the politicians mean when they say “more of the same”.
At some point good common judgement needs to come into play in regard to interpreting the rules. Since a lunch was planned (Chili Cheese Dogs) and the group was meeting in a parking area, it really is no different then all of the other events that happen in the state. The fact that I did not stuff some pancakes into my mouth before going caching should not disqualify this as an event.
Lets either ban all events or admit that they are about a group getting together to go caching. Whether they are existing caches or temporaries should make no difference at all.
Often the event temporaries do not pass the requirements for a “real” cache anyway, should all of these be banned too?
We all do this for fun and it seems that the “rules” lately are to discourage the fun. Some may not like this opinion but it does not diminish my right to have one.
Way to go on 300 caches!
It is great to see you so involved.
Keep it up!The milestones just keep on a coming.
Congratulations on your 700th!
Keep up the fine pace!Good Grief in a nice way. Your family is poised to move into the number 2 spot in Wisconsin (which has been occupied by three different cachers this year so far – so why not four).
Keep it up and your enthusiasm for the hunt seems as high as ever.
Great job on 1500!Nice job on number 400! As busy as you all have been it is a nice surprise to see your milestone.
Congratulations to one of the rising stars of geocaching. You also seem to have more fun then most and your logs reflect that.
Way to go and now on to 800! -
