Maybe we could Wisconsin cachers together at one of the pre-events? I just put a will attend on GC7FQQK. If everyone wears a WGA T-shirt that day we can find each other.

I have a bookmark list in the works for the event, including 2 routes to Cinci.  It may be helpful to others.

Congratulations to the new 2018-2019 Board of Directors, whoever you are! And to the 2017-2018 BOD, thanks for your service!

    I will second that.

I am going south a couple of blocks to watch “This Is Spinal Tap” at a friends house.  Maybe I will do a puzzle cache on the classic Spinal Tap movie?

Currently, I am working on the Utah DeLorme Challenge.  The best way to see all of a state is to do either a county challenge or a DeLorme. For those who have not yet done the Wisconsin DeLorme challenge or the Badger State County challenge, I suggest you start making spring plans for road trips.

Jim ‘ s proposal has merit and should be considered.  Also agree with his view that the annual board meeting is important.

There remain a lot of great caches in Wisconsin, mixed in with the dreck and spew.  I like it when a cache takes you to an interesting place or shares some history of the location.

For a bookmark listing of great caches that I have visited, you can look at my bookmark list for the Z COTD. Only high quality caches receive the Z COTD award. As to say which is best, who knows? Which is better peach cobbler or warm pecan pie? Depends on your taste, I guess.

Lots of cachers in Eau Claire, and you can PM me here for more information. Fairly regular events as well, including one just last month by Da Bloodhound in Menomonie.

That is so sad. She was quite a dynamo of a person, and often stopped by. She will be missed.

There is more like several thousand attempts blocked for every spam message that gets through. The new website will be somewhat more “strict” on who will be able to post, but it won’t affect registered, active members.
As far as CAPTCHA, we had that for a while and it got way too much negative feedback to deal with.

Thanks for not including CAPTCHA. Main reason I quit coming here often was the trouble getting on due to CAPTCHA. Really a bad system and pretty pointless.

My experience with rangers in Wisconsin is that they recognize that during the spring and fall (outside of camping and hunting seasons), we constitute the majority of park users, so they really want us to place caches. They do recognize that their budgets are dependent on visitor levels and entry sales. It is just too bad that the executives in the DNR don’t recognize this (yet).

This is a key point, and we need to continue to remind the DNR people of this as often as possible.

DNR involvement is key in making this a first class program. At the start of the thread Gwyn mentioned the value of having each State Park cache advertised at the park. In Minnesota, the generally did this with a poster at a kiosk near the entry point. Doing this, is a great way to introduce new folks to caching.
