Lake Kegonsa: WGA State Park Series

Lake Kegonsa State Park was one of three state parks proposed in the original Outdoor Recreation Act Program in 1961. This area was selected due to its proximity to Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago.

This state park offers 96 campsites, an outdoor group camp area, approximately 5 miles of hiking trails, a beach, a boat landing area to access Lake Kegonsa, and numerous spots with picnic shelters and places to rest.

Many exciting changes area also scheduled: a wetlands boardwalk, an observation tower and an accessible cabin for visitors with disabilities.

Enjoy your hike!
