The Wisconsin Geocaching Association released an Adventure Lab Series in November 2022 that follows the route of the Yellowstone Trail in Wisconsin. There is a great team of trail bosses who own each of the Adventure Labs in the series.

All of the Yellowstone Trail Adventure Lab Series are non-sequential, so geocachers can do the historic Trail from any direction or just as you cross the Trail in your travels across the state. Waypoints that were selected with the goal that they would be historic and interesting to visit and highlight the actual route of the Yellowstone Trail.
