FTP for Sunday. I was duly impressed by the use of masks in Door County yesterday. Every business had signs saying that face coverings were required, and I even witnessed employees in one business reminding a patron to put on a mask.

We have a 4-day weekend before school starts on Tuesday. Since Betty’s annual girls weekend in Door County was cancelled this year, we were going to take a day-trip today. With the weather, we decided to postpone until tomorrow.

Thank you. Do you remember Miss Othmar, the teacher from the Peanuts animated shows, and how she sounded…wah-wah, wah-wah? https://youtu.be/q_BU5hR9gXE That is what I heard reading your response. 🙂

LOL! I hear you, Debby. Sometimes the technical stuff can be a bit much. Sometimes you just want to take a nice walk in the woods and maybe find some tupperware while you’re at it. Nothing like a paper map.

Good news, my teammate tested negative.

Optional days have been a real mess, leaving most of us less certain about our safety and the plans our District has for handling things. .

We’re in a similar place. One of my teammates was absent yesterday. He said that he had a bad headache and cough, so he took the day off to go get tested. We were told that we do not need to wear masks while alone in our classroom, but I had others come into my room with no masks, or I had to quickly grab my mask and put it on when others entered. My other teammate needs a lot of reassurance with technology, so he would come in, no mask, and pull up a chair right next to me. I’m not optimistic about how long in-person school will last.

10 – 6 day today. Parent/Teacher conferences from 3 – 6. It’s actually “Open House,” but it’s being structured more like conferences with 15 minute appointments, one student and parent at a time.

My hiking buddy has a state parks pass. We had a trip planned to Governor Thompson State Park in July that got bumped to today. Unfortunately, I had no reception at the park. I had printed a trail map and had all the coordinates loaded, but I couldn’t see what caches were on which trails. I found a couple caches, but we spent a lot of time wandering the wrong trails. In the plus side, it didn’t rain and we got over 12,000 steps.

I have 8 caches in that park. Sweetlife has most of the rest. I never had reception problems there. At least you made the most of your day.

I always wear Bears apparel when I go to Green Bay. Even wore a Bears tie tac when I went to a wedding reception at Lambeau.

I haven’t been to the east coast of Wisconsin this summer.

Got stung by a wasp. Got my ear sliced by a sharp branch. A few nettles to itch, itch, itch. Just another day of hunting Lonely Caches!

Sounds like you had a good day. I spent a portion of my day under the kitchen sink. Two trips to Menards: one to buy the new faucet and one to buy tools that I thought I was going to need to remove the old faucet. Turns out that I had the tools I needed: sawzall, pry bar, and pruning shears. Met with a lawyer about selling my mom’s house. I was under the sink when Betty called and told me that she forgot something that she needed for her dog training class, so a third trip to Marshfield ensued.

Sunday morning, as I was getting ready to go caching, Betty informed me that the clothes dryer wasn’t working. After a little trouble shooting, I came to the conclusion that it was not something that I could fix, and would probably cost more for a repairman than it is worth. So on my way home I stopped at Menards and bought a new dryer. This afternoon I was washing dishes, when the kitchen faucet started spraying water out where water is not supposed to come out. Got the water turned off and what leaked into the cabinet cleaned up. Looks like tomorrow’s project will be plumbing.

I got to the dealership yesterday, and the service advisor suggested a more involved preventative maintenance procedure than just an oil change. Said it would take about 5 hours, so they would give me a loaner. So I took the loaner caching. Put on about 120 miles and found 17 of 19. The two DNFs were caches that I had DNFed before. One is an evil micro in the woods. The other is just gone.
